SUMMARY:What the Folk Friday: Black Folk
DESCRIPTION:Black Folk is a duo comprised of multi-instrumentalists Debbie Cole (violin\, vocals\, acoustic guitar) and Charlie Harris (basses\, guitar\, percussion\, and vocals).\n\nBlack Folk was formed in 2019 after a chance meeting between Debbie and Charlie. They discovered their mutual love for music that tells a story. They believe that any American music that tells a story is "folk" - and they are spot on!\n\nTheir music is unique\, exciting\, and passionate. They have been influenced by everything from classical to jazz and everything in between.\n\nThese influences are woven into a tapestry that is not only accessible\, but that features the years they have spent honing their musical chops. They are as adept playing a soothing ballad with two acoustic guitars as they are swinging with an electric violin and an electric bass guitar. They have been booked in venues that feature primarily jazz artists as well as venues dedicated largely to traditional folk music.\n\nThey are a must-see event\, and you will see them at Englewood Arts on June 14th!
